Posted on: May 4th, 2011 “All I Want” Nominated for Kerrang Award.

I just received word that the A Day to Rememeber “All I want” video I directed has been nominated for a Kerrang Award.  The category is “Best Video” and is up against some pretty amazing videos (30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, etc.). I am honored to have my work nominated in the same category.

If you didn’t know Kerrang is one of the biggest music magazines in the UK, and it’s amazing that my work is being noticed by such a high caliber and international publication.

This video was a ton of work, but a lot of fun, again I want to thank everyone who worked on this and made this possible.

You can check out the nominees HERE and most importantly you can Vote HERE

Posted on: February 24th, 2011 AlaBAMA!

This past weekend  I made the trek up to Birmingham, AL with Michael Dalton to direct the video for Gideon “Virtue” (Facedown Records). The shoot was a blast. We shot a stripped down live video to capture the energy and essence of the song.  I wanted to keep it true to the band, but wanted to do a couple things to make it unique. That is normally something hard to do with a hardcore band, but I feel we pulled it off.

We used an atypical live set up, along with a couple In-camera effects that will be exclusive to this video. I’m very excited about the way the footage looks.

You will just have to see for yourself when the video comes out.

Posted on: February 14th, 2011 Bienvenidos a Miami

So I just got back from a weekend in Miami. I worked second camera unit with director Doug Spangenberg.

We were on set with Videosync filming some insane dance workouts with famed choreographer JaQuel Knight. JaQuel has worked on some of the most talked-about dance moves in recent history, like  Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” music video, The feature film Burlesque, and Britney Spear’s Circus tour.

It was awesome to see JaQuel  and J. Marcos of Videosync in their element, true geniuses at what they do and super nice guys.

I don’t get to south Florida that often either, so it was a nice change of scenery.

Posted on: February 11th, 2011 As They Sleep Video Premier

The music video I directed/edited for As They Sleep‘s “Oracle of The Dead”(Solid State Records) is now live at Noisecreep.

This was one of the hardest shoots I’ve ever done. Hauling 12ft pieces of steel(for the wrestling ring) up 4 flights of stairs, an almost 24hr workday, and a stolen laptop, didn’t make exactly make my day, but it did make a pretty sweet video.

I’d like to thank John Pope (DP) & crew, and the wrestlers for being awesome & completely making this idea possible.

Oh and two Noisecreep premiers in one week? pretty cool.

Posted on: February 4th, 2011 Fire starters and All-Nighters

So we are already in February, this week as been a whirlwind.

Last weekend I shot the new video for For Today’s “Seraphim”. They originally wanted another live video for the song, But after listening to the song several times, I thought the song had so much symbolism to explore, so I went in a completely different direction.  There was fire, torches, masks, and way more. It was a pretty  intense all night shoot in the woods of central Florida. Expect a full update/production notes along with a behind the scenes video when the video debuts.

But in the meantime, I’ll just give you some teasers: (screen grabs, raw footage)

Also, The video I directed for As They Sleep‘s “Oracale of the Dead” is debuting next Friday, Feb. 11th on Noisecreep. Watch out for that.
